Sarah Gobby was baptised on 28th December 1856 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of a straw plaiter named Mary Ann Gobby, formerly Buckingham, and her husband Joseph Gobby, an agricultural labourer.
Sarah appears in the 1861 and 1871 censuses with her parents and siblings at Parsonage End in Toddington. She was described in 1871 as a straw bonnet sewer. The 1881 census finds Sarah living with her recently widowed father at 6 Tanners End.
Sarah has yet to be researched after the 1881 census.
