Emma Gobby was baptised on 27th July 1840 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of a straw plaiter named Mary Ann Gobby, formerly Buckingham, and her husband Joseph Gobby, an agricultural labourer. Joseph and Mary had only married five months earlier.

Emma died when she was only a couple of months old, being buried on 8th October 1840 at Toddington.
