Facts and Events
Minnie Gobby was born in 1860 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of a straw plaiter named Mary Ann Gobby, formerly Buckingham, and her husband Joseph Gobby, an agricultural labourer.
Minnie appears in both the 1861 and 1871 censuses living with her parents and siblings at Parsonage End in Toddington. She was described as a straw bonnet sewer in 1871.
Minnie has yet to be researched after 1871.

ch. 1 Apr 1860, Toddington, Bedfordshire: Henry son of Joseph & Mary Ann Gobby
Although this baptism has been transcribed as "Henry", it is considered that this is likely to be a mistake, given the lack of a Henry in the births index, the otherwise lack of a Minnie in the baptism index and the close timing of the registration of Minnie's birth (January - March 1860) and the baptism of "Henry" on 1st April 1860. Moreover, there is no evidence of a Henry appearing with the family in the 1861 or 1871 censues, nor of a Henry Gobby having died. The original baptism entries need to be inspected to see if a transcription error has been made.
