Records of Samuel Davis Arrival in Townfork Settlement, Surry County, NC

A hired genealogist has linked the Samuel Davis of Townfork Settlement, Surry County, NC circa 1764 to the Samuel and Mary Davis who sold their land as described above in 1764 to Samuel Lyle, as this is about the time Charles Davis b 1752 (son of Samuel) says his family moved to North Carolina in his American Revolution pension application (see Charles Davis page).

Charles Davis' pension application further specifies that they came from Augusta, Virginia, suggesting that the Samuel Davis of Townfork Settlement, Surry, North Carolina, is the Samuel Davis of Borden Tract, Virginia.

Also the surname Fitzpatrick is present in land dealings of Samuel Davis' family of Townfork Settlement, Surry County, North Carolina (see William Davis page).
