Morrow DNA Group 9 (Mystery R-L21)
This group consists of descendants of 5-6 families traced to the 19th century, but with common ancestor(s) likely closer to 1600-1650.
- James Isaac Morrow (1850-1900), m. Rebecca Florence Collins. They first appear in Kaufman County in 1880 before settling in Hunt Co, TX. Online trees speculate the he is the son of William Morrow m. Margaret Cooper in 1849 in Hunt Co, TX, and speculate that he is in turn the son of John Morrow (1770) m. Susanna in NC. However, (1) William's family (although married in and later found in Hunt Co) is found in Sevier Co, AR in 1850, in a census record dated 3 days before James was born (his census records consistently say he was b. TX); and (2) John (1770) is in Group 2; he does not remotely match James. Additional tests from Hunt County-connected Morrows would be helpful.
- Robert Morrow (~1776-1815), m. Sarah Sparks, lived in Bourbon Co, KY.
- Joseph Morrow (~1770-1866+) m. Betsy Gilliam and Ruth Black Brown in Heard Co, GA. Assuming the paper lines are correct, Joseph is not related to his brother-in-law and contemporary in Georgia, Ewing Morrow (Group 1).
- Daniel Radnor (~1793-1870+) m. Rachel Roberson, parents of at least seven children in McDowell Co, NC.
More participants from any of these locations would likely help further define these matches and relationships.
