Eusebia Lewis was born in 1838 at Husborne Crawley in Bedfordshire, daughter of Sarah (or Sally) Lewis, formerly Cook, and her husband Thomas Lewis, a pig dealer. Eusebia's unusual first name appears to have been that of a fourth-century Roman empress.
By 1841 the family had moved to the nearby village of Aspley Guise, where Eusebia's parents ran the Swan public house. They moved again between 1849 and 1850 to the King's Arms at Little Brickhill in Buckinghamshire, about four miles south-west of Aspley Guise.
On 10th February 1859, aged twenty, Eusebia married Barnard Charles Sinfield (who was known as Charles). They married at Little Brickhill, but then moved to the nearby small town of Fenny Stratford, where Charles worked as a railway porter, presumably based at the nearby Bletchley railway station.
Eusebia and Charles had two children together: William in 1859 and Eusebia (who appears to have been known as Annie) in 1862. The 1861 census finds the family living at Bletchley Row in Fenny Stratford.
Eusebia died in 1862, aged 24, being buried at Little Brickhill on 28th September 1862. She presumably died giving birth to her daughter or shortly afterwards; young Eusebia's birth was registered between July and September 1862. Charles survived her by 21 years.
