This is my picture and my bio for my reunion

I was born on October 15, 1938 in Madelia Township, the fourth of ten children. My dad was a carpenter and my mother was a homemaker. When I was four, my family moved to 27 East Main Street in Madelia where almost everyone remembers the family residing. I went to school grades first through fifth with this class. I was held back in fifth grade, then after 7th grade I enrolled in the Faribault School for the Blind where I remained until the age of 20. While in was in the School for the Blind, I roomed with three other boys of the same age. Along with the usual studies I learned to cane chairs and do basketweaving. I wrestled for the school for four years and went on to compete in the District and Regional Championships, not only with other blind schools but with mainstream high schools. I enjoyed the town of Faribault, even though I was very homesick at first.
After I returned to Madelia I worked for 8 years for Norbest. In 1964 I married Norma (Nootenboom) Martwick who had five children: Mark, Myron, Wanda, Doug and Cheryl. Wanda had died of a brain tumor at age 5. In 1968 I went to work for Tony Downs where I remained until I retired in 2000 after 32 years of employment. Norma passed away from cancer in 2006. We enjoyed growing a large garden and canning the produce from it. We also enjoyed trips to visit my sisters, Donna, in Wassilla, Alaska and Shirley, in Venice, Florida. While in Florida we visited the Ringling Brothers Circus Museum and Mansion.
I have quite an extensive coffee mug collection and I save wheat pennies as well.
I still enjoy gardening and house plants, and I keep busy visiting the elderly and playing Uno, Racko and Aggravation with other retirees. My greatest love though, is the church which has been and continues to be a big part of my life.

My address is: 11 4th ST NW, Madelia, MN 56062 and my phone number is 507-642-8750.
