This is my bio for my 50-year class reunion
Greetings and Best Wishes to the 1957 graduates of Madelia High School on this your 50th anniversary. While I didn’t graduate with you, I hold fond memories of the eleven years we did spend together as friends and classmates.
And so here we are 50 years later each writing the final chapters in our books of life. May your chapters be many and filled with the realization of lifelong dreams, and the blessings of family, friends, and good health.
Now a little about those years in between. Shortly after graduation from Hector High School I joined the Army and was stationed in Korea and Atlanta, GA. While in the Service I married Eloise Tuman from Hutchinson, MN. We have two daughters, two granddaughters, and a grandson. They live in Hutchinson, MN and Chippewa Falls, WI.
My entire work career was with 3M Company at manufacturing facilities in Hutchinson, MN, Brookings, SD, back to Hutchinson, MN, Medford, OR, and at corporate in St Paul, MN. It was during our assignment at Medford that we fell in love with the West. The allure of the coast, mountains, rivers and the mild weather were overpowering. Yet in 1994 we relocated to St Paul, MN for one last assignment. It, however, didn’t last. In 1996, after an unsuccessful attempt to acclimate to Midwest winters, we opted for retirement and returned to live in the foothills just outside the National Historic Landmark Town of Jacksonville, OR.
We’ve been blessed with good health, a wonderful family, many friends, and an overabundance of interests, all of which compete for our time. However, we still find time to walk the beach, hike the trails, explore the remote areas of Eastern Oregon, and are involved in civic activities.
Last, but very important, I’d like to thank George Arduser for contacting me and extending an invitation to attend the reunion. It was a very thoughtful and much appreciated gesture.
