This is my bio for our class reunion in 2007
My husband, Don, and I have two children; Linda (46) and Gregory (43), who have given us three grandchildren; Amber (25), Colter (20) and Briar (5). It’s nice that we all live in Minnesota and I enjoy having the grandchildren visit.
Before retiring, I worked for Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and for Watonwan Soil and Water Conservation District. I also did the accounting for the gas station, tire shop and car repair shop that we own in St. James. In between golfing and watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games, I love to go antiquing!! I also love potting flowers and flower gardening, and have both a perennial and a wildflower bed. I always show my flowers at the Watonwan County Fair and my dry arrangements at the Minnesota State Fair.
For our vacations, we enjoy going up to Northern Minnesota and to my brother’s beach house on the outer banks of North Carolina. One of the things I like best about being over 65 is being able to do what I want, when I want. I don’t miss punching the clock.
But, I don’t like the aches and pains of being over 65. Six years ago, I was hit by a pickup while walking in the crosswalk at the main intersection of St. James. I spent two weeks in the hospital with a severely broken left arm and couldn’t even walk at first. I flew through the air about 12 feet and landed on my side. I remember the takeoff and the landing, but not the flight in between!!!
