Lousia Lichfield Cook was born in 1840 at Husborne Crawley in Bedfordshire, England. She was the daughter of a lace maker named Mary Cook, formerly Lichfield, and her husband John Cook, an agricultural labourer. Louisa appears in the 1841 census living with her parents at Crow Lane in Husborne Crawley. By 1851 the family had moved to the nearby village of Aspley Guise.

Louisa died in 1858, when she was only seventeen years old.
