Albert Cook was born in 1868 at Aspley Guise in Bedfordshire, England. He was the son of a lace maker and dress maker named Mary Ann Cook, formerly Lichfield, and her husband John Cook, an agricultural labourer. Albert appears in the 1871 census living with his parents and siblings at Station Road in Aspley Guise.

Albert died in 1875, when he was only six years old.
