Arthur Frederick Cook was born in 1863 at Aspley Guise in Bedfordshire, England. He was the son of a lace maker and dress maker named Mary Ann Cook, formerly Lichfield, and her husband John Cook, an agricultural labourer. Sadly Arthur died when he was only five years old in 1868.
