This is my bio for my 50-year class reunion

After graduating from Mankato State in 1960, I taught for 2 years in Osseo, MN. I married Tom Schutt from Mankato in 1961.

Tom and I have moved several times in our 47 years of marriage. Most of our moves were with Tom’s job with 3M Co. We left MN in 1967, moving to Allentown, PA. On to Virginia Beach, VA in 1968. In 1970, we moved to Knoxville, TN. We fell in love with the area and chose to stay here.

We have 4 children -

  • Phil (45) lives in Knoxville with his wife, Sherri, and their 2 children,
  • Tony (44) lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Karan, and their 3 children,
  • Rob (43) lives in Knoxville with his wife, Mary, and their 2 children, and
  • Jeannie (37) lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Louie, and their 2 children.


In 1989, we moved to a small village west of Knoxville, Tellico Village, which is situated on one of the TVA dammed up lakes. This area reminds us of northern MN. Moving around as much as we did, I stayed home for many years while Tom traveled in his job. Since I never got certified to teach outside MN, I never taught again. In 1984 I took a job as a school secretary and stayed at that job for 13 years.

Since Tom retired, we stay busy with our family (19 and growing), church and friends. We love to travel, boat, golf, garden and play bridge. I also volunteer at Church and sing in the choir. Life has been good to us!

I’m so sorry I will not be able to make it for the reunion. Hello to everyone.
