We Rrose from our seats and ran: We sat down in the high school room To listen to a poet man.
It made us laugh and clapp, But just the same, I thought That stuff was very short and flat.
And yelled with all his might, So you know I wasn't sad When he was out of sight.
He was so very kind, He told us of his own dear town, That he had left behind.
And tell us of his home, And how he squandered when he was young. And how he loved to roam.
And read to us a poem, Twould make our thoughts go back a step, To our own beloved home.
