Processioning List of 1767/68

"Processioning" was the periodic review and agreement of property lines between settler's lands. Processioning Lists are useful in determining the general area of a settlers lands and their neighbors at specific time periods:

Information on Conrad Custer

Biography of Conrad Custer, by Craig Beeman (omb@ponyexpress.net):

BIOGRAPHY: Conrad Custer appears as a signer of the Falkner's Swamp Petition in 1728 seeking protection from the Indians at Skippack (now Montgomery Co.). Conrad bought and sold land throughout PA, including: Skippack area, Franconia Township, Bucks Co. near the Delaware river, Tinicum Creek area and Revere. In 1762, Conrad bought 1660 acres on the North Branch of Shannandore (Shenandoah), near Clover Lick, Augusta Co. (now in Rockingham Co.), VA. this is near Brock's Gap. Apparently a second marriage took place, because at Conrad's death his widow (unnamed) consented to his estate being committed to his son, Paul. It is widely reported that Conrad was the father of from 27 to 30 children. However, part of them could be his brother's children and his son's children, who were left orphans.
