Mount Pleasant is an inhabited place within the boundaries of Philadelphia County, Philadelphia, PA. [Philadelphia County is coterminous with the City of Philadelphia.] It is within the area commonly referred to as Germantown. In origin, Germantown was a large tract of land (5000+ acres) in Montgomery County, and was established in 1683. The Germantown tract was divided into four distinct villages: Germantown, Cresheim, Sommerhausen, and Crefelt. Mount Pleasant is located within the borders of what was originally called Germantown Village.
