Sodbury Rural District was formed in 1935 from Chipping Sodbury Rural District which was abolished that same year. It was centred on the town of Dursley in Gloucestershire, England. The rural district existed from 1935 until 1974 when it was replaced in part by the larger Stroud District and in part by the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire.
