John Talbot Conklin, son of Isaac and Rebecca (Marsh) Conkling was born in 12 February 1828 in Sycamore Township of Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Sycamore public schools and one year at Farmer's College in Cincinnati. John lived in California from 1850-52, and then returned to Cincinnati where he married Rebecca Creagar on 18 December 1852. Rebecca died in 1862. On 17 June 1863, John married Anna L. Adams, daughter of James Adams of College Hill (Hamilton County), Ohio. Anna was born in October, 1829 in Ohio. John was a farmer and real estate dealer. At the time of his death, he owned much land in Blue Ash (Hamilton County), Ohio. The 1870 census shows John's infirmed mother living with his family and the 1880 census shows his uncle, John L. Talbot living with John's family. There is an extensive biography of John and his family in the History of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (1894). John died in January, 1904 in Blue Ash, Ohio. His will was recorded on 26 January 1904. He names his son, Isaac A. Conklin as administrator. The will names sons Isaac Augustus, Charles F., and Warren M., daughter, Mrs. Alice Miller, and daughter-in-law, Luella Conklin, wife of his son, William M.
