On the 1910 census , William, age 12, was home with his mother, Myra, in Ward 3, Salina, Saline Co., Ks.[ED 135 , p 2B, fam #47/47] He was apparently missed on the 1900 census where we would have expected to find him age 2! We find William, 22, on the 1920 census in Salina, Saline Co., Ks. He is a "butcher - own shop." Frances is 25, and caring for their son. They live at 326 Center St., Saline, Ks.[ED149, p1, fam #4/4] In his mother's obituary, 1931; sister Selena's obituary, 1944, and brother John's obituary, 1945, it is noted that he resides in Wichita, Ks. From his obituary, we learn that William lived first in Hutchinson, Ks., then moved to Wichita in 1929. He was in the grocery business until he retired about 1952. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, and lived at 842 S. Madison, Wichita, Ks. It is noted that he is a "descendant of a Salina Pioneer family."
