She is on the 1900 census, age 13, with parents in Liberty Twp., Saline Co., Ks.(ED 118, p 195B, fam #32/32) On the 1910 census, we find Grover Pease, age 20, farming in Glendale, Saline Co., Ks. With him is wife Bertha, age 23, who reports they have been married 2 years and have no children. They have with them her brother, "hired man" Arthur P. Rittgers, age 16.(#129.C)(ED 128, p 1A, fam #2/2) They moved to Colorado between 1915 and 1920 where we find them on the 1920, census there in Bland Precinct, Elbert Co. Grover, 29, is a farmer on a general farm. Bertha, 32, is caring for their children. (ED 127, p 3A, fam#54/55) In her Mother's obituary, dated 1931, she is called Mrs. Bertha Guy of Colorado Springs, Colo. In sister Selena's obit, 1944, Mrs. George Guy; brother John's obituary, 1945, and Perry's in 1947 she is Mrs. Bertha Guy of Colorado Springs., Co.
