She is on the 1880 census, age 6, with parents in Liberty Twp., Saline Co. , Ks.[ED 299, p 24, fam #93/99] On the 1900 census, we find George L. Bolton, age 32, with wife Sarah, 26. His occupation is not recorded. They live at 340 7th St., Salina, Saline Co., Ks., and have been married 2 years with no children. He declares his parents born in Ohio.[ED 121, p 29, fa m #212/218] In 1910, Selena, 36, is on the census with husband George Bolton, 42. They have been married 12 years with no children. George is listed as a "trader - livestock." [ED 137 , p 13B, fam #36/327] By 1920, George L., 52, is a "laborer - common." "Sarah S.", 46, is tending the home.[ED 148, p 6B, fam #138/167] Salina's death was newsworthy. When she failed to respond to a tenant's knock for the second day in a row, the tenant went in and found her sitting in a rocking chair - dead apparently of a heart attack. At this time her address was given as 112 South Ohio. The article was a photocopy with no newspaper information. What the article didn't mention was a single date!
