He is on the 1900 census, age 10, with parents in Liberty Twp., Saline Co., Ks.[ ED 118, p 195B, 32/32] On the 1910 census, we find Jacob, 20, a farm laborer with his uncle, Peter Rittgers (#12.B). Jacob's wife, Nina, 21, declares they have been married 0 years and she has born 0 children.[ED 54, p 3B, fam #53/53] They are on the 1920 census in Glendale, Saline Co., Ks. He is 36 and a farmer. With him is wife Nina, 33, and two children. Also in the home are niece Katherine Conlin, 12, and nephew Robert Conlin, 9. We have not found this name in our records, so will assume they are from Nina's side of the family. [ED 138, p8A, fam #49/31] In his mother's obituary, dated 1931, he was living in Glendale, Ks. Sister Selena's obituary, 1944, and brother John's obituary, 1945, place him in Detroit, Ks. Brother Perry's obituary, 1947, placed him in Junction City, Ks. [obituary, photocopy submitted with no date or newspaper stated.] Jacob died 7 Dec 1954 in Ogden, Geary Co., Ks ., and was buried in Abilene, Dickerson Co., Ks. Nina died 15 May 1965.
