    Funeral services were held Thursday, August 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Steele for Ms. Virgie Bell Green. Mr. Mason Harris officiated.

    Ms. Green was born September 28, 1885, at Cannelton, Ind., and died August 15, at the Home of Golden Years in Senath at the age of 86.

    She was married to A.A. Green at Steele in 1909. Her husband and two sons, Elbert and Johnnie Young, preceded her in death.

    She leaves two sons, Hans and James Green, both of Steele; two daughters, Hilda Zahner of Steele and Elizabeth Hester of Vienna, Ill.; one sister, Ms. Bessie Still of Steele; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

    Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

    Pallbearers were Bynum Hester, Louis DePriest, Elmer Lane, Quentin Still, Paul Cooper and Arthur Hester.
