    Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ Sunday afternoon at two o'clock for Mrs. Mary Katherine Frakes, who died at the home of her son, R. E. Frakes of this city, after a years illness. Rev. James L. Whitfield was in charge of the funeral assisted by the German Undertaking Company, and interment was made in the Mr. Zion cemetery. She was 72 years of age.

    Mrs. Frakes was born and reared in Davis County, Ky. She was married to Mr. Frakes in 1883 and they moved to this county in 1895.* To this union was born 9 children, two preceded her in death, Virgil at the age of 22 years and Cressie at the age of 2 years. She became a member of the Church of Christ when a very young woman and lived true to her belief until death. Mr. Frakes died in 1900 and since then she has made her home with her son, R. E. Frakes, prominent merchant of this city.

    Surviving are 5 sons, R. W., W. T., A. D., E. A. and O. F. Frakes and two daughters Virgie Greene and Bessie Still all of this city, 36 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

    Pallbearers at the funeral were: F. J. Weaver, Dee Callens, W. M. Cooper, J.H. Brown, Albert Lipscomb and E.A. Boone.
    Flower girls were Mrs. Tom Whitfield and daughter, Miss Irene, Mrs. E. A. Boone, Mrs. Dee Callens, Mrs. Grace Evans, and Miss Vallie Casey.

    *NOTE: This is an error. Ulysses Grant Frakes never came to Missouri. He died in Perry County, Indiana, and is buried there. Mary moved to Missouri some time after that to be near her children.
