    Elizabeth Hester Dunahoo, 90, formerly of Steele, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She has been with her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Randall DePriest in Texas for the last ten years.

    Born Nov. 4, 1921, she is the daughter of the late Amos and Vergie Frakes Green.

    She was also preceded in death by her sister, Hilda Zahner; two brothers, Hans and James Green; and two half-brothers, Elbert and Johnnie Young.
    Elizabeth was united in marriage to Hoyt Hester on May 6, 1939. He preceded her in death after 47 years of marriage.

    She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was dedicated school teacher and was known to many as "Aunt Liz".

    Later in life she married Frank Dunahoo, who preceded her in death. Surviving are his children Lanny, JoAnne, Tammy and their families who became a big part of her life.

    Mrs. Dunahoo leaves her daughter, Judy and Randall DePriest; much beloved granddaughter, Beth Krueger; three great-grandchildren: Brent, Matthew and Kelsie; Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who were family to her.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Dunahoo were held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Mundy officiating.

    Congregational singing was lead by Merion Bishop.

    Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.

    Pallbearers were Brent McCormack, Matthew Krueger, Jared Green, Tom Winter, Kevin Hester and Casey Hester.
