Amos Albert Green, age 79 years, died suddenly at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis Tuesday morning a short time after he had arrived at the hospital from his home near Steele.
Mr. Green was born in Covington, Tennessee, but had lived near Steele for the past 76 years. He had extensive farm interests near Steele, and was an active member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, and were conducted by Brother Mason Harris. Interment was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virgie B. Green; two sons, Hans and James L. Green, both of Steele; two daughters, Mrs. Archie Zahner and Mrs. Elizabeth Hester; eleven grandchildren; and one brother, Bose Green, all who live near Steele.
Pallbearers were Clyde Southern, G.G. Southern, Bynum Hester, Rufus Lewis, Floyd Smith and Marshall Cameron. German Funeral Home in Steele was in charge of arrangements.
