Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Johnnie Young of Steele and St. Louis who died at the home of his mother, Mrs. A. A. Green, Tuesday about 1 o'clock. He was 40. Mr. Young had spent the last four years in St. Louis but came here about a month ago when his illness became serious.
Services were held at the Church of Christ with Bro. H.F. Sharp officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Undertaking Co. in charge.
Pallbearers were: Floyd Smith, Beaumont Smith, John R. Franklin, Eugene Kellems, Elmer Lane and Vinson Potts.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Young, Wardell, one son, Harold J. Young of Caruthersville, one daughter, Delores Maxine Young of Caruthersville, his step-father, A.A. Green, of Steele, one brother, Bert Young of Steele; two half-brothers, Hans Green, Steele, James Green, Steele; and two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Zahner of Caruthersville, Mrs. Elizabeth Hester, New Madrid.
