Rose Schroeder

Funeral services were held at 10:30 Wednesday, December 5, 1979 at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, for Rose Katherine Schroeder. Pastor R. D. Ehlers officiated. Pallbearers were Delbert Scheffert, Walter W. Bruehahn, William Bacon, Don Bacon, Jerry Schroeder, Larry Schroeder, Ronnie Scheffert, and David Scheffert. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery.

Rose Katherine Schroeder, the daughter of John and Mary Lestina Holly, was born April 13, 1888 in Clayton County, Iowa. She was baptized and then confirmed in 1926 in the Lutheran Faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona by Pastor Albert Daugs. She was united in marriage to William Schroeder on October 16, 1907. To this union four children were born: Gladys, Harold, Harriett, and Vivian. She died December 1, 1979 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 91 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Preceeding her in death were her parents, her husband William who died in 1970, a grandson, Robert Scheffert, a great-granddaughter, Joan Dull.

Surviving her are her son Harold of Monona; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Gladys) Bruehahn, Mrs. Lloyd (Harriett) Bacon of Monona, and Mrs. Yvo (Vivian) Scheffert of Luana; nineteen grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
