Services Held For Wm. Schroeder William Schroeder, the son of Ferdinand Schroeder and Fredericka nee Mueller, was born on May 8, 1882, in Clayton County, near Froelich, Ia. He was baptized on May 28, 1882, by the Rev. H. Kaste and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 11, 1897, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, when the Rev. J. Graening was pastor. He attended the country schools near Froelich. On October 16, 1907, he was united in marriage with Rose Holly at Elkader, Ia. They farmed in the Monona area at various locations through the years. In 1965, they moved into Monona, where they have lived since. Mr. Schroeder was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Monona. He had been confined to his home for the past year. He passed away on Friday morning at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 2 days. Surviving are his wife Rose; his daughters, Mrs. Walter (Gladys) Bruehahn of Monona, Mrs. Lloyd (Harriet) Bacon of Monona, Mrs. Yvo (Vivian) Scheffert of Luana; one son, Harold Schroeder of Monona; one brother, Henry of Chicago, Ill.; and three sisters, Mary Suddendorf of McGregor, Martha Lestina of Postville, and Elsie Fox of Monona; also 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Albert; two sisters, Mrs. August Ihde and Mrs. Amanda Johnson; also one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Image Gallery
