Izetta May Kent, 96, of East Jordan, died April 13 1988, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, Bellaire. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Paullin Funeral Home, East Jordan. The Rev. Gilbert Fox of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Rev. Estel A. Clark of the Grace Community Church of Central Lake will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
The former Izetta May Hosler was born June 18, 1891, in Echo Township, Antrim County, the daughter of Alexander and Minnie May Edgerton Hosler. She married Curzon B. Kent on Oct. 11, 1908, in Kearney Township, Antrim County. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Mrs. Kent lived in the East Jordan area all of her life and was a homemaker. Her hobbies were gardening and canning. She also worked at the Ellsworth Canning Factory. In her youth, Mrs. Kent was a midwife and delivered many babies in the East Jordan area.
She is survived by: three sons, Curzon Kent of Flint, Basil Kenneth Kent and Harold Lee kent both of East Jordan; two daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Letha) Decker of East Jordan and Mrs. Edna Brenneman of Petoskey; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ardis Wilks of Bellaire and Mrs. Forrest (Dorothy) Laug of Naples, Fla. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Verna Etcher and two sons, Leland W. Kent and Herburt L. Kent.
The family suggests memorial to the Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Paulin Funeral Home where friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call Saturday from 10 a.m. to time of service.
