In 1910 census he is a farm laborer, apparently on home farm. 1930 he is foreman in auto factory; 1940 Draft Card he worked for Chevrolet. Izetta said Alex and Joseph ran away because of the hard work. No one knew where they were, but different people would say the thought they saw them at 'so and so' place.

    HOSLER, Joseph H. -- 717 Patrick, age 67, died Sunday, November 10, 1968, at Hurley Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Vernon Chapel, Brown Funeral Home, Rev. Gerald Swetnam officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Hosler will lie in state at the Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd. He was born in East Jordan, Michigan, November 11, 1900 and had resided in Flint for the last 50 years. Mr. Hosler was an employee of Chevrolet Motor Division for 42 years, retiring in 1965. Surviving are: Daughter, Virginia N. Boydston of Flint; son, Joseph H. Jr. of Lansing; grandson, Kevin; 2 brothers, James A. of Pontiac and Frank of Grand Rapids; 4 sisters, Mrs. Izetta Kent of East Jordan, Mrs. Sadie LaNore of Bellaire; Mrs. Forrest Lang of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Marvin Walks of Bellaire; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
