In 1910 he is a farm laborer, apparently on home farm, 1920 a woodsman, 1924 a laborer,

Belle Sweet said that after his mother's death he stayed with the Murphys for a while.

Izetta said as a child he had measles then pneumonia and almost died. He and brother Joseph ran way because of the hard work. No one knew where they were, but different people would say they thought they saw them at 'so and so' place.

    James Hosler Rites Pending
    East Jordan--Graveside services for former resident James A. Hosler, 81, will be held at the Morehouse Cemetery in the spring. The Vanderwall Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hosler died Jan. 27 in Flint.
    Funeral services for Mr. Hosler were held Friday at the Sunset Chapel of the Reigle Funeral Home in Flint.

    HOSLER, James A.-- 3479 W. Piper, age 81, died Tuesday, January 27, 1981 at Briarwood Manor. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday at the Reigle Funeral Home Sunset Chapel, Rev. Wilson Deaton officiating. Burial in East Jordan, Mich. Friends may call at the funeral home. Mr. Hosler was born in Bellaire, Mich., April 10, 1899, and had been an area resident most of his life. He was employed by GMC Truck & Coach of Pontiac for 18 years, retiring in 1968. Surviving are: 3 sons, Raymond E. and Charles W., both of Flint and Edward F. of Detroit; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy E. Hislope of Millington and Mrs. Rosemary Edwards of Flint; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
