Obituary contributed by Jerry Jackson; transcribed by Janie Jackson Kimble: Heber L. Jackson, 83, of 368 North Elm street, died at 1:45 a.m. today at Whitley County Hospital. . . Mr. Jackson was born October 18, 1895 in Thorncreek township, a son of John P. and Martha Long Jackson. March 18, 1919 he married Susie A. Rouch. They were married by the Rev. William E. Hunter at Grace Lutheran Church parsonage. Mr. Jackson was reared and attended school in Thorncreek township. He spent his entire lifetime in Whitley county except for a short time when he lived in Portland, Ore. He was owner and operator of a farm and was a member of First Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, on July 14, 1972. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth D. Jackson of Longmont, Col., and Benjamin Paul Jackson of Warsaw; one daughter, Mrs. Archie (Martha) Hartman of 5 Robin Way, Wooddale Addition; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one half-sister, Mrs. Bertha Workman of Miller's Merry Manor.
