Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jackson, Washington township celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on Sunday afternoon by entertaining relatives. Their daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Betty) Robbins and Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Heinley acted as co-hostesses.
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson were married December 25, 1912 at 7:00 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Miller who resided at that time in Thorncreek township.....The bride and groom went to housekeeping on the bride's grandparents farm, the Walling Miller farm.....
Granddaughters, Miss Linda Robbins, Miss Wanda Robbins, and Mrs. Roger (Sandra) Holler served punch, mints, nuts and a decorated cake.....
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson reside on their farm which is located six tenths of a mile east of Tunker on the south side of the road.

Jesse P. Jackson Stricken While Working In Field
Funeral Rites Saturday Morning
Jesse P. Jackson, 79, a resident of Washington township, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday of an apparent heart attack in a hay field near his home. He had been working with Harry Bollinger, loading bales of hay on a wagon, when it was noticed he had been stricken. He had been under a physician's care for 15 years, but able to live a normal life.
He was born December 7, 1886, a son of John A. and Martha Long Jackson.
On December 12, 1912, he was united in marriage to Florence A. Miller and they started housekeeping in Thorncreek township. In 1922 they moved to the Elizabeth Eberhard farm in Columbia township where they lived for 16 years. They also lived in Cleveland township before moving to Washington township in 1942.
Mr. Jackson was engaged in general farming. He had served in the Militia, was a member of the Eberhard Lutheran Church for 44 years, a former member of the church council and a member of the Washington township Farm Bureau.
Surviving is the wife, Florence, R 1, South Whitley; two daughters, Mrs. W. Elmer (Helen) Heinley, R 1; Mrs. Dwight (Betty) Robbins, West Middleton; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Heber Jackson, Columbia City; one half brother, Dan W. Jackson, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Workman, Muncie and Mrs. Edith Fleckenstein, Pittsford, New York; one half sister, Mrs. Daisy Longnecker, Denver, Colo.
Three brothers, Clarence, Homer, Floyd; two sisters, Lillie Rouch and Chloe Jackson have preceded him in death.
. . . Committal services and burial will follow in the Eberhard cemetery.
