From source book by Oscar Burton Robbins, pg 324: "This family record by Florence on 10 Jan 1947, who also says 'Her mother's grandfather was a Methodist Minister, her father's grandfather was a Baptist Circuit Rider, and one of her father's grandparents was a waif, stolen from the streets of London, brought to America and reared in a kind Dutch family, who gave him the name "Guest", because they did not know his name. Harriet Guest, my father's mother was a grandchild of above waif." Jackson Mrs. Jackson, a Thorncreek Township native, died at 4:30 a.m. April 6, 1987, at the age of 92. She had resided at Miller's Merry Manor since January of 1987. Her birth was on Jan. 12, 1895, in Thorncreek Township, to A. Emment (sic) and Agnes Millard Miller. She was married on Dec. 24, 1912, to Jesse P. Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was reared in Thorncreek Township and lived there until 1922, when she moved to the Elizabeth Eberhard farm in Columbia Township where she lived for 16 years. She also lived for short periods in Washington and Cleveland townships before moving to Washington Township in 1942. She had worked during World War II at General Electric. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Eberhard Lutheran Church and Eberhard Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. She was a former member of Tunker club. Her husband Jesse died on June 22, 1966. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Heinley of R 1, Columbia City, and Mrs. Dwight (Betty) Robbins of West Middleton. There are four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a brother Garland Miller who is living with a daughter in Greenville, S.C. A brother Alfred Miller is deceased. Burial will be at Eberhard Lutheran cemetery, Columbia Township. References
