Floyd Jackson Fort Wayne News, May 16, 1917 Student Dies - Columbia City, Ind. May 16.---Floyd Jackson, son of Mrs. and Mrs. J. P. Jackson, of near Lorane, a second year student in Northwestern Dental College, at Chicago, died there Monday night at 9:30 O'clock from scarlet fever, after first becoming ill Saturday. Members of his family who received a message Monday telling of his critical condition, left Columbia City Monday night at the same hour his death occurred. The remains will be shipped to Columbia City and the funeral, a private one, occurs today. Rev. H. B. Leonard conducting the services. The deceased was a graduate of the Columbia City high school and a member of the local I.O.O.F. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Clarence and Jesse Jackson, of Thorncreek township, Heber, at home, Homer, of Terre Haute; Miss Edith, at Bloomington, Ind., and Mrs. Bertha Workman, at home; the following half brothers and half sisters, Fred Jackson, of Fort Wayne; Daniel, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Daisy Longnecker, of Denver, Colo.; Mrs.Lillian Rouch, of McCook, Neb., and Miss Chloe Jackson, of Atlanta, Ga.
