    Harold M. Smith, Sr.

    Harold M. Smith, Sr., 80, 1901 N. Polk, died Friday at his home. He was born May 12, 1902 at Frankfort, the son of Raymond Eugene and Mary Alice Musgrave Smith, and lived in Topeka most of his life. Mr. Smith was an electrician for Santa Fe before he retired in June 1966.

    He was a member of Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ, Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM, Helena Chapter No. 210 of the Order of Eastern Star and Santa Fe Old Timers Club, all at Topeka. He married Eva M. Newman Sept. 2, 1921 at Lawrence. She survived. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Maxine E. Hutton and Mrs. Arlene E. Metzger, both of Topeka; three sons, Harold M. Smith, Jr., Reno, Nev., Leonard R. Smith, Topeka and Eugene W. Smith, Bonner Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Smith (wrong in obit) Green Valley, Ariz., and Mrs. Veronica Claunch, Shawnee; a brother Herbert L. Smith, Wichita; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Golden Rule Lodge No. 90 AF&AM, in Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Smith will lie in state after 4 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home, and an hour before service time at the church. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ, 2036 N. Taylor, Topeka, 66608.
