    Henry E. Smith

    Henry Edwin Smith, 65, 632 Leland, died Sunday at an Excelsior Springs, Mo. hospital.

    He was born July 31, 1897 at Onaga and lived in Topeka about 52 years.

    Mr. Smith operated a rock quarry near Topeka for several years. He was a member of Third Christian Church and Kansas Peace Officers Association.

    Survivors include his widow Mrs. Letha M. Smith of the home, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Virginia Heuer, Chicago; his father Eugene R. Smith, 1500 Buchanan; two brothers, Harold M. Smith, 1901 Polk, and Herbert Smith, Los Angeles; four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Painter, 1503 Washburn, Mrs. Velma Smith, Town House Apartments, Mrs. Vina Nelson, Littleton, Colorado, and Mrs. Veronica Blaunch. [wrong, I know, but in obit.], Mission, and several nieces and nephews.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Davidson-Eslinger-Duff Chapel with burial in Rochester Cemetery.
