    BONNER SPRINGS- Eugene Walker Smith, 77, of Bonner Springs, KS. Passed away Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

    The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Basehor United Methodist Church in Basehor, KS. With burial to follow in the Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, KS.

    The Family will receive friends at the visitation from 9 to 10 am prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

    Mr. Smith was born Nov. 10, 1931 in Topeka, KS and had lived in the Bonner Springs area since 1973.

    He was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard. And had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad out of Topeka and then for Union Pacific Railroad retiring in 1993.

    He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary M. Smith of the home and 2 Sons David A. Smith of Bonner Springs, KS and Steven E. Smith of Basehor, KS and 1 Daughter Jeanne M. Bullard of Chandler, AZ. and 1 Sister Arlene Metzger of Topeka, KS. And 13 Grandchildren.
