Obituary - TOPEKA CAPITAL-JOURNAL C. A. CARLSON DIES IN TOPEKA Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary for Carl August Carlson, 80, 1204 W. 1st, who died Friday in a Topeka hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 19. He was born March 17, 1886 in Sweden and had lived in the United States since 1901. He had lived in Topeka about 30 years. He formerly owned and operated a grocery store at Calderhead near Clyde about 25 years and later was employed as construction superintendent with J. A. Lundgren and Son Construction Company. He was a member and honorary life deacon at West Side Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Carlson, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Alvin Lais, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Elvin Carlson, 2040 Randolph, and Carl Harold Carlson, 1211 W. 1st; a sister, Mrs. Hugo Dahlstrom, 124 N. Kendall; three brother, Edwin Carlson, Clifton, Bernard Carlson, McPherson, and Gust Carlson, 110 N. Courtland; and seven grand-children. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Carlson will lie at the mortuary until time of services.
