Obituary - Topeka Capitol Journal, January 13, 1996 Carl Harold Carlson Carl Harold Carlson, 78, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1996 at a Rossville nursing home. Mr. Carlson was a building superintendent for J. A. Lundgren and Son Construction Co. for many years before he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was born Oct. 25, 1917, at Clifton, the son of Carl August and Laura Hendrickson Carlson. He was graduated from Clyde High School in 1936 and had lived at Rossville since 1993. Mr. Carlson was a 56-year member of West Side Baptist Church. He was married to Margaret Anderson in 1946. She died in 1961. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Carlson, Overland Park; a son, Stephan Carlson, Terre Haute, Ind.; a brother, Elvin Carlson, Topeka; a sister, Lorraine Lais, Los Angeles; and a grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Carlson will lie in state after noon today at the funeral home.
