    Laura Carlson
    Mrs. Laura M. Carlson, 86, 1204 W. 1st, died Monday night in a Topeka convalescent center where she was transferred from a Topeka hospital Sept. 15. She had been readmitted to the hospital Aug. 21 after she suffered a broken right hip in a fall.
    She was born Aug. 20, 1890, at Monson, Me. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
    She was married to Carl A. Carlson March 29, 1912, in Topeka. He died Dec. 23, 1966. A son, Merlyn Carlson died about 20 years ago. Survivors include two sons, Elvin Carlson, 2040 Randolph and Harold Carlson 1211 W. 1st; a daughter Lorraine H. Lais, Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Carlson will lie in state at the funeral home until time of services.
