Facts and Events
Gust was a great lover of the outdoors. He hunted and fished and they traveled. Gust worked for Kansas Power and Light as a salesman for years. Then worked for Stauffer Publications until her retired in the spring of 1970.

Gust K. Carlson Gust K. Carlson, 71, 110 N. Courtland, died Tuesday night in a Topeka hospital where he was readmitted Nov. 14. He had last been admitted to the same hospital Feb. 9, 1970, and released. He had a heart ailment and pneumonia. He was born July 9, 1899 in Sweden and lived in Topeka 50 years. Earlier he lived at Clifton. He was employed by Stauffer Publications many years and worked in the circulation department until last January. He was a member of Potwin Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge. He was married to the former Ruth Olson, she survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Eaton, 1308 Caledon, Beverlee Carlson, Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. Shirley Standish, Millbrae, Calif., a brother Edwin Carlson, Clifton, a sister Gunhild Dahlstrom, Topeka; and four grandchildren. Wall Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
