John Parker Cooper was baptised on 13th December 1874 at South Hylton in the parish of Ford, County Durham. He was the son of Elizabeth Jane Cooper, formerly Robinson, and her husband John George Cooper, a joiner. Young John appears in both the 1881 and 1891 censuses living with his parents and siblings at Ferry Boat Row in South Hylton. In 1891 he was working as a greengrocer's assistant. He has yet to be researched after 1891.
