Mrs. Montgomery Funeral Services

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock in St. Patrick's church for Mrs. George Montgomery, 66, who died Saturday morning, Jan. 15 at Ossian, following a lingering illness.

She had lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lestina, at Ossian since the death of her husband April 5, 1946. She went into a coma last Thursday evening and died in her sleep.

Services were conducted at Monona by the Rev. Luke Donlon and the Rev. Donald D. Weydert of Ossian. Burial was in the City cemetery at Monona with the following men as pallbearers: Simon Moses, Joe Kadlec, Frank E. Lestina, Joe Tayek, Joe Lotza, John Seglar and Charles Ulish.

As Anna Agnes Holly, she was born Feb. 22, 1882, at Beulah, a twin daughter of the late John and Mary Holly. She was one of 14 brothers and sisters.

On Sept. 5, 1906, she was married to George Montgomery, establishing their home in Monona. Later they moved to Marquette, where they lived until 1928. At that time they returned to Monona, where she resided until Mr. Montgomery's death.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters. They are: John of Austin, Min., Mrs. Walter (Arlene) Lestina of Ossian, George of Dubuque, Mrs. Leo (Margaret) Lettington of McGregor, Donald of Monona and Mrs. Anna Mae Rittenhouse of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; a twin sister, Mrs. Kate Johnson of McGregor, two other sisters, Mrs. Mary Fibikar of Boone and Mrs. Rose Schroeder of Monona; and six brothers, Joe of Farmersburg, Albert, Vencilof, Elmer, George and Frank Holly, all of Monona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, two sisters and two brothers.
