From the Monona (IA) Leader John Holly, 61, Funeral Held Funeral services for John G. Holly, 61, were held last Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's church with Father Luke Donlon officiating at the requiem mass. Burial was in St. Wencelaus cemetery. He died Tuesday morning, May 8, at the McGregor hospital, where he was taken the previous Sunday, following a paralytic stroke Saturday, May 4. He was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Holly on a farm in Giard township Jan. 20, 1884. His entire life was spent on the farm, save for the last year. He moved to Monona with his brother Vencilof March 1, 1944. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. George (Anna) Montgomery and Mrs. William (Rose) Schroeder, both of Monona, Mrs. John (Kate) Johnson of Marquette, and Mrs. Mary Fibikar of Boone; six brothers, Frank, Albert, George, Vencilof and Elmer, all of Monona, and Joseph of Farmersburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Elizabeth) Lestina, Mrs. Ben F. (Mathilda) Lestina and one dying in infancy, and a brother, Jake. Pallbearers were: Leo Vlazny, Frank Melcher, John Buerger, Simon A. Moses, Wyman Whittle, Roy Kottman, Sylvester Lotza and Charles Fett. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral services were: Mrs. Mary Fibikar of Boone; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fibikar of Dows; Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of Marquette; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lettington of McGregor and Mrs. Jake Holly of Elkader.
