  • Page 448.--16th November, 1774. William Patterson and Mary ( ), of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, to Patrick Quin, a tract joint property of four sisters, heirs of Randal McDonald, deceased, patented to John Hope, 5th September, 1749, and by him conveyed to Randal McDonald, who died intestate, and Mary, wife of Wm. Patterson became invested in the 1/4 part on Cook's Creek.

  • Vol. 1 - NOVEMBER 15, 1752. - (363) William Patterson petitions that in his way from the northward he camped in the woods in company of one Thomas Homes, who in the night time picked his pocket of eleven pieces of eight and one Caroline, for which he was apprehended and taken before B. Borden, but escaped, leaving behind him a mare and saddle, which are ordered to be advertised in the Va. Gazette, and sold. (Note: perhaps record of this William Petterson?)
  • Page 593.--15th May, 1764. David ( ) Frazer, of Albemarle County, to James Frazer, £40.10, 220 acres, southeast side Shanando River, the lower corner to Frazer's line. Teste: Wm. Patterson, Robert Frazer, Jno. Reburn.
  • Page 474.--28th September, 1765. William Frazier's estate sold at vendue--to, viz: Hance Magot, Wm. Hook, Wm. Patterson, John Ferrell, Jacob Herrberrger, Michael Coker. Settlement of above estate, by James Frazier--4 gallons liquor at the funeral, 6-1/2 gallons for vendue.

Fowler et als. vs. John Stewart.--John Fowler and Margaret, his wife; William Patterson and Mary, his wife; Patrick Quin and Jane, his wife; James Skidmore and Sarah, his wife, sue John Stewart for a slave which Stewart bought of Jennet McDonald (McDonell), administratrix of Randolph McDonell. (Are these women daughters of Randolph?) (Note: record provides evidence that William Patterson's 2nd wife was daughter of Randolph McDonald who died in 1744 in Augusta County).

Henderson appointed surveyor of highway from John Madison's to Givens's Mill.--Tithables from James Craig's up Middle River to James Givens and on South River from William Patterson's to Christian Clemons. John Madison appointed surveyor of highway from his house to Jones's Ford, tithables on Middle River from James Craig's downwards, and on South River from William Patterson's downwards, and as low as said Madison's. Andrew Fought appointed surveyor of highway, vice Archd. Huston.
  • Vol. 1 - MARCH, 1769 (A). - Fowler vs. Skidmore.--Bill in Chancery, filed 1764-5. John Fowler and Margaret, his wife, William Patterson and Mary, his wife, Patrick Quinn and Jane, his wife, which said Margaret, Mary and Jane, together with Sarah, since intermarried with James Skidmore, were sisters and co-heirs of Randolph McDonald of Augusta County, deceased, against James Skidmore and Sarah, his wife. Randolph died intestate unmarried and without children. Randolph's mother was Janet McDonald. Randolph was 26 years old when he died. (Note: provides additional support of William Patterson's 2nd wife as sister of Randolph McDonald, Jr., who died in 1757, also lists other siblings of Mary (McDonald) Patterson).
