- Page 618.--4th May, 1764. William ( ) Patterson to Thomas Rafferty, £12, 18 acres on South River Shanando, part of 330 acres patented to _____ (George Anderson), 30th January, 1741. Delivered: Thomas Rafferty, January, 1765. (Note: George Anderson's name is not listed in the original transcription, but was found on previous and subsequent records of Anderson's 330-acre tract in Chalkley's, one listed below).
- 1773: William Patterson sold the upper (southern most) 111 acres of his land to his son James Patterson. Both of these tracts [includes the 18 acre tract listed above] were west of South River. [Descendants of William Patterson who settled on South River in Augusta County, Virginia about 1740, by John L. Patterson, pg. 3].
- Page 286.--21st March, 1786. William Pattcrson, Sr., to his son William Patterson, Jr., tract patented to George Anderson, 20th January, 1741. (Note: since 18 acres of this tract were sold to Thomas Rafferty in 1764, and 111 acres to son James Patterson in 1773, it is assumed that the remaining 201-acres were given to William Patterson's son, William Patterson, Jr.)
