23. William Benjamin5 Lewis (Thomas4, John3, Andrew2, William1) was born August 8, 1778. William died ca. 1825 at 46 years of age.

He married Margarite Hite 1800. Margarite was born 1786. Margarite died 1872 at 86 years of age.

William Benjamin Lewis and Margarite Hite had the following children:

+ 58 i. William H.6 Lewis.

+ 59 ii. Gen. George Washington Lewis was born ca. 1800.

60 iii. Mary Jane Lewis was born 1811. Mary died 1891 at 80 years of age. She married Col. John Murray Lewis November 18, 1829. Col. was born March 30, 1808. Col. was the son of Capt. John Lewis and Rachel Miller. Col. died 1861 at 53 years of age. (See Col. John Murray Lewis for the continuation of this line.)
