From the January 7, 1946, edition of the Dubuque (IA) Telegraph Herald Vincent Anglin Vincent Anglin, 50, a former Jackson county farmer who retired last October and moved to Dubuque, where he resided at 721 Bluff street, died at 5:30 Monday morning in Finley hospital after an illness of three weeks. The remains are at the family home, 721 Bluff, where friends may call after 7 o'clock Monday night. The funeral will be held from there to St. Lawrence's church, Otter Creek, at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. Burial will be in St. Lawrence's cemetery, under the direction of the Ashworth and Bennett funeral home. Born at Otter Creek, Jackson county, Dec. 7, 1895, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Anglin. He farmed in that county until last October, when failing health prompted his retirement and removal to Dubuque. He was a member of St. Raphael's cathedral parish, a former member of St. Lawrence's parish; was a veteran of World war I and a member of the American Legion. Survivors are his wife, Loretta Barnable Anglin; three children, Celine, Arlene and Paul Anglin, all at home; four brothers, Jerry Anglin, Maquoketa, Chris Anglin, Otter Creek, and Leo and Leonard Anglin, Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Ryan, Otter Creek, and Mrs. James (Genevieve) Cowan, Dubuque; two aunts and two uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Anglin was educated in the parochial schools of Otter Creek and the Bayless Business college. Image Gallery
